What resolution should I scan my photographs or negatives? |
If your photo is 3" or smaller scan at a resolution of 600 dpi. If your photo is between 3" and 7" scan at 300 dpi. If your photo is larger than 7" scan at 200 dpi. Scan your negatives at a resolution of 500 to 2000 dpi. The higher the dpi the better the quality for editing. |
What does it mean to have my photographs cropped? |
Cropping means cutting out part of the photo to either center attention on the subject matter or shaping it so that it occupies more of a TV picture frame or a combination of both. |
Why would I want my photos enhanced? |
You may need to correct the color and tone of an image for several reasons. The original photograph may have a color cast caused by the film, lighting, or aging. Or the scan may have been imperfect--scanners can introduce color casts or artifacts. Or the colors in your original art may be out of printable range. |
What are titles, scrolling messages and captions? |
A title is used to begin or end a group of photos. A scrolling message gives you the option to add a few words to introduce and/or end your video production. A caption is text that is added to a specific photo. |
What are transitions? |
Transitions are effects that are in between each photos. It enhances the viewing quality of the Photo DVD. |
